Rep announces Rosen's Inaugural Season
KC Rep recently announced the shows for its 2008-09 season. This is Artistic Director Eric Rosen's first season at the Rep and he has promised theatre-goers "An inaugural season of uncommon adventure, beauty, and excitement on both of our stages." It's a new day at the Rep and you won't want to miss a single show of what is going to be a phenomenal season. NEW! First Show of 08/09 Season to be New Hip-Hop Musical!
Clay - Sept. 6-28, 2008
Kansas City audiences will have the opportunity to experience the explosive new hip-hop
musical Clay – one of Rosen’s biggest successes – just prior to its New York premiere at Lincoln
Center.
Created by the award-winning young writer/performer Matt Sax in collaboration with Rosen,
Clay is a coming-of-age story told with the great humor, intensity and lyricism of contemporary
hip-hop music. Sax’s solo tour-de-force performance was awarded Chicago’s Joseph Jefferson
Award and received critical acclaim for its recent Los Angeles run. According to Variety
magazine, “Sax [is] so assured as both writer and performer that he redefines charisma for a hip
new age” and “Sax possesses superstar talent.”
Tickets are on sale now for this hot new musical which will have a limited three week run prior to moving to New York. All seats are just $25!
